Courses must be added by student on the Portal beginning March 2, 2026 and no later than March 30, 2026.

Financial Aid

Limited need-based Harvey Mudd College scholarship assistance is available to assist participating HMC students in covering the costs of Summer Session classes. To be eligible for consideration, a student must have applied and qualified for need-based Harvey Mudd College scholarship funds during the 2025–2026 academic year and be meeting financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.

Eligible HMC students requesting financial assistance should submit their application by Wednesday, March 11, 2026 to be considered. Students will be notified, no later than March 18, 2026, of their eligibility for financial assistance.

Note: Students and their parents should contact the Office of Financial Aid no later than April 3, 2026 if they’re considering borrowing from federal loan programs to cover the Summer Session expenses. Enrollment in at least six credits is required for federal loan programs.

Summer Course workload:

Summer courses require a much larger time commitment due to their compressed nature. Students should expect the daily workload for a three credit, 3-week course to be the equivalent of a 15 credit course load during a traditional semester.

  • Students enrolled in a three credit, 3-week course may not be enrolled in any other course concurrently.
  • Students enrolled in ENGR004 HM may not be enrolled in any other course concurrently.
  • Students may take up to two (2) three credit, 6-week courses at the same time
  • Students may take no more than three (3) HMC Summer Session courses.

  • All courses are 3 credits ($4,250) except for ENGR004 HM, which is 4 credits ($5,000)
